The team
This international and interdisciplinary project involves researchers from different countries (Poland, Russia, Kyrgyzstan…) and representing several research fields (sedimentology, geochemistry, archaeology…)
About the project
This is 3-year project financed by the National Science Center, Poland, which aims at establishing of the geological context for the cultural layers of some key Central Asian archaeological and anthropological cave sites.
Our research
We focus on sedimentological and geochemical analyses of sediments and their particular compounds (fossil bones) to track homogeneity of strata bearing archaeological assemblages. We try to detect the potential mixing of sediments between layers, the intensity and directions of that mixing.
Updates
Check the list of our publications, where we present crucial discoveries of the project. You can also follow the progress of our works in the News section.
Funding
The project is financed by the National Science Center, Poland, grant No. 2018/29/B/ST10/00906.
