Greta Brancaleoni, MSc

Co-investigator in the project

I am a geologist specialized in Applied Geology. I have embarked upon my academic journey since 2019, when I became a PhD student at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, under the supervision of Prof. Maciej Krajcarz.

So far, my PhD research activity has been focused on site formation processes and paleoenvironmental reconstructions at selected Paleolithic sites in Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan). I am working on a multi aspect approach applied to the study of the aforementioned archaeological sites involving especially soil micromorphology analyses combined with soil analytical methods and sedimentological and stratigraphic analyses.

My interests are about a better understanding of natural processes at archaeological sites and the interaction between the natural and anthropogenic forces in shaping the landscape of a certain area over time. Moreover, I find very fascinating the study of climate changes in the past.
